    The process to replace front door exterior handles starts with the removal of trim panel followed by extraction of water deflector. Extract the outside handle rod from both the rod clip and the lock cylinder rod from its clip. Secure the handle with masking tape while using it to remove the mounting nuts from the outside. After that, remove the rubber cover to unscrew the outboard nut. First extract the Door Lock Cylinder from the outside handle housing while resolving any lock cylinder malfunctions which are present. Finally put on the new handle throughout the vehicle installation procedure. When changing the lock cylinder you must coat it with gm p/n 12345120 or canadian p/n 726548 lubricant which you should apply on the inside of the lock case and cylinder keyway before putting the Door Lock Cylinder into the outside handle housing. The first step includes affixing the lock cylinder clip onto the lock cylinder rod followed by joining the handle rod to the handle assembly clip. Uncover the Door Handle with masking tape and attach its mounting nuts while screwing them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Reinstall the rubber cover together with the water deflector before putting on the trim panel.
