The first step for engine Oil Cooler Hose/pipe replacement on 4wd vehicles includes lifting the vehicle. First separate the front skid plate bolt while removing the front skid plate. Put a drain pan under the engine oil before you take off the bolt holding the remote oil filter adapter and dispose of the seals. First lower the vehicle so you can remove the air cleaner assembly. The engine oil cooler lines require detachment from the Radiator before removing them completely from the vehicle. Examine each component of fittings, connectors, cooler lines, cooler, filter lines and remote filter adapter for damage and distortion alongside restrictions and replace faulty components when needed. Engine oil of the same type normally used for circulation should be used to clean the engine oil cooler along with its lines and both the remote filter adapter and connecting filter lines. Installation requires new seals placement on both engine oil cooler line ends followed by using a torque wrench to install and tighten the mounting bolt at the remote oil filter adapter to 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.). Install the engine oil cooler mounting bolt to the engine while tightening it to 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.). After installing new retaining rings secure the engine oil cooler lines to the Radiator while maintaining proper connection through line tension. After installation of the front skid plate attach its bolts with 32 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) torque setting then return the vehicle to normal height for final inspection before filling the engine oil to necessary capacity.

Install the engine oil cooler lines into the quick connectors until a click is heard or felt, then reinstall the steering linkage shield.

Discard the retaining ring and pull the cooler line straight out from the quick connect fitting.
