    Q:
How to replace the wiper motor on Chevrolet Express 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must take out the wiper arms and open the air inlet grille panel to replace the wiper motor. Detach the wiring plug from the wiper motor before you unscrew its four mounting bolts and extractor the wiper drive system module from the vehicle. To access the wiper motor start by detaching its crank arm through J 39232 and thereafter unscrewing the two bolts which stabilize the unit. Via this method dismantle the wiper motor from the wiper drive system module. Place the wiper motor onto the wiper drive system module and fasten it with two bolts before tightening them to 8 N.m (71 lb in). Insert the wiper drive link into the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer. Afterwards, attach the wiper drive system module back to the vehicle by securing it with the four bolts and tightening them to 8 N.m (71 lb in). Attach the motor electrical connector and put back the wiper arms before placing the air inlet grille in place. Validate the wiper system by running it through all positions.

    Q:
How to replace the wiper motor on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need two tools to replace the wiper motor: Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232) and Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529). First take off the wiper arms plus the air inlet grille panel. Disconnect the electrical wire from the wiper motor before unscrewing and removing all four bolts that fix the wiper system drive module. Take this module out of the vehicle. Place the Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232) between the drive link and crank arm to detach the parts before unscrewing the two motor retaining bolts. Then remove the wiper motor from the drive system module using the same tool. Secure the new wiper motor onto its drive system module with two bolts until they reach 8 N.m (71 lb in). Use the installer tool (J 39529) to join the wiper drive link to the motor arm then place the drove system module back into the vehicle and fasten it in place using four bolts which should be tightened to 8 N.m (71 lb in). Secure the wiper motor electrical connection before putting back the air inlet panel and windshield wiper arms. Turn on the wipers to test if they work as expected.
