The tool collection for direct fuel injection (LLT) Fuel Injector replacement includes en-47909 injector bore and sleeve cleaning kit together with en-48266 injector seal installer and sizer, j 2619-01 slide hammer, and j-37281-a injector remover. Lowering the fuel system pressure on the high side should be the first step. First detach the fuel injection Fuel Rail assembly and afterward discard the Fuel Injector hold down clamp and separate the wiring harness from the injectors. Direct fuel injectors must be extracted using the tools j 2619-01 and j-37281-a. You must throw away the injectors' upper o-ring seal in addition to their plastic spacer and retaining ring and isolator cup and teflon seal. The installation requires new o-ring seal gm p/n 12345610 or canadian p/n 993193 which needs silicon-free engine oil lubrication before fitting upper o-ring seal, plastic spacer, retaining ring, isolator cup, and teflon seal onto the components. The en-48266-1 tool should be placed against the injector tip before applying a new seal on it and drawing the seal down the injector's groove. Apply the en-48266-2 to the seal for resizing until it reaches the bottom of the injector body while you rotate it 180 degrees clockwise then counterclockwise. The en-48266-2 tool must be removed before placing the new direct fuel injectors into the cylinder head through the use of fresh hold down clamps together with harness wire connections. Mount back the fuel injection Fuel Rail assembly as the last step.

The Fuel Rail removal process requires uninstalling the Fuel Rail before removing the retaining clip and pulling out the Fuel Injector from the Fuel Rail. The Fuel Injector service begins by separating both the upper o-ring and lower o-ring. The installation process begins with inserting newly purchased upper o-ring and lower o-ring onto the injector and applying gm p/n 12345616 (Canadian P/N 993182) fluid on the upper o-ring . You should slide the Fuel Injector into the Fuel Rail after placing the retaining clip to secure it before reinstalling the whole Fuel Rail. Take care to prevent damaging the pins and nozzles on the Fuel Injector electrical connector while avoiding exposure to any cleaning solutions since this electrical component may be damaged by such treatment. Engine oil contamination from fuel can occur whenever any Fuel Injector shows signs of leaking.

The first step to replace ly7 vin 7 fuel injector and rail without direct fuel injection requires relieving fuel system pressure using ch 48027 for lp1 and ly7 or without it for vin 7 and llt with high-pressure pump. The first step requires removal of the upper Intake Manifold alongside the lower Intake Manifold. The first task requires removal of the fuel pipe retaining clip before disconnecting the fuel feed pipe from the fuel injector rail. Compressed air should be directed at the injector entry points in the Intake Manifold to remove any debris that accumulates there. To prevent damage to the terminals and spray tips on the fuel rail you should remove the bolts while maintaining support to the rail during its removal. First disable the electrical connector of the fuel injector before extracting the fuel rail with injectors and the retainer clip and injector unit which requires seal disposal. New fuel injector seals must be used before installing the injector while securing it with the retainer clip. Reconnect the electrical connector after inserting fuel rail with injectors into place and tighten its bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The process ends with connecting the fuel feed pipe to the fuel rail followed by fuel pipe clip installation and reattachment of the upper Intake Manifold.

The first step involves decompressing the fuel system pressure either with ch 48027 or without it then the cross vehicle brace needs removal. Spray cleaning solution gm x-30a or its equivalent allows cleaning of the fuel rail assembly but avoid excessive soaking. You must remove the fuel feed hose/pipe from the fuel rail and after that remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) dirty air hose and finally disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) quick connect fitting . Under the right side rear of the engine section and the front of the dash, use retainers (1 and 2) to access the lines for positioning them out of the way. You must first disconnect the left and right fuel injector wiring harness connectors at the fuel injectors then remove the sight shield bracket and its attaching studs to handle the fuel rail assembly. Remove lower o-ring seals from each injector and discard them before taking out the retainers and fuel injectors from the fuel rail assembly by throwing out the o-ring seals. When installing fuel injectors users must apply engine oil to new o-ring seals before they attach them to the fuel injectors using new retainer clips which need to be mounted to the fuel rail with electrical connectors maintained at a 90-degree angle to the crankshaft centerline. Secure the new o-ring seals on each injector spray tip end with lubricating them with engine oil. Next install the fuel injectors and fuel rail to the Intake Manifold before seating the assembly by pressing it down. Start by installing both fuel rail attaching studs, which require 10 n.m torque setting. After that, secure the sight shield bracket nuts at 10 n.m also. The fuel injector electrical connectors should be joined to their respective fuel injector before installing fuel feed and evap lines through retaining clips (1 and 2). The purge valve will receive the evap quick connect fitting while the pcv dirty air hose returns to its original position. The fuel rail receives the fuel feed hose/pipe installation after fitting the cross vehicle brace and positive Battery Cable reinstallation. The final check benefits from turning on the ignition key for 2 seconds followed by 10 seconds of off time before another 2-second key turn while the engine remains off for leak detection before shield installation is performed.

Remove them as an assembly, disconnecting the electrical connector; if necessary, use the J 2619-01 with the J-37281-A to remove the injectors evenly.

Secure the fuel injector with the retaining clip and reinstall the fuel rail.

Lubricate the NEW injector O-rings with clean engine oil.

The assembly is stamped with identification, and using the correct part number is essential for proper fit and function.
