    Q:
How to replace a one-piece Drive Shaft on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The initial step to replace this propeller shaft requires placing the transmission in neutral position before releasing any currently applied park brake. Support the raised vehicle before you mark the rear Universal Joint position to the Drive Shaft flange. Once the retaining bolts are removed together with clamps you should proceed to take out the propeller shaft from the pinion drive flange and the transmission/Transfer Case. The u-joint bearing caps need protection against separation by using tape or rubber bands. The first step of installation requires removing tape and rubber band from the u-joint before aligning the propeller shaft within the transmission/Transfer Case with pinion flange reference marks. Install clamps onto the components along with retaining bolts before tightening these bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.), which should conclude with lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How should the propeller shaft be disconnected for the 2002 GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the propeller shaft from the front axle pinion yoke, wrapping the bearing caps with tape to prevent loss of bearing rollers, and then remove the propeller shaft from the transfer case.
