    Q:
How to service the Secondary Air Injection Pump on Chevrolet Suburban 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service of the air injection pump requires initial removal of the fender and cowl brace followed by disconnecting connectors of the air pump along with the air solenoid valve and Relay. Detach the hose from the air shut-off valve and remove the hose clamp from its respective position on the air shut-off valve hose. Start by disconnecting the vacuum line from the air solenoid valve then proceed to remove the hold down fastener of the air pump assembly along with its block before you can extract the air pump assembly. You must terminate the rubber posts joining the air pump together followed by removing all the air hoses (3/4) from the pump before taking out the air pump completely. Place the air pump on top of rubber mounting posts and attach hoses to it before you proceed (3,14). The installation process includes inserting the air pump assembly into the vehicle after which you must attach the air pump assembly hold down block with its fastener. Make sure to fasten the hold down fastener to 25.0 n.m (18 lb ft). Screw the hose to the air shut-off valve through the hose clamp. Reinstall the electrical cables to the air pump and air solenoid valve and air pump Relay and attach the vacuum line to the air solenoid valve. The testing of your air system should take place after you install the fender brace and check for correct air functionality.

How to service the Secondary Air Injection Pump on Chevrolet Tahoe? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service of the air injection pump starts with bracing removal from the fender and cowl and disconnection of electrical connectors from the air pump , air solenoid valve , and Relay . Start the procedure by disassembling the hose clamp on the air shut-off valve hose then disconnecting the hose from the valve unit. The vacuum line needs to be taken out of the air solenoid valve before you can remove the air pump assembly hold down fastener and block. The procedure begins with post-release of the air pump rubber mounting posts from the pump then follows removal of hoses from the air pump before taking out the pump itself. Install the air pump so it rests on the rubber mounting posts then link the hoses to their respective points on the pump. Install the air pump assembly into the vehicle followed by fixing the air pump assembly hold down block together with fastener and applying 25.0 n.m (18 lb ft) torque to the fastener. Fasten the hose to the air shut-off valve by using a hose clamp. After connecting the electrical pins to the air pump and air solenoid valve and air pump Relay you can install the vacuum hose to the air solenoid valve. Reinstall the brace to the fender and cowl before performing a system test of the air system.
