    Q:
How to service and repair the axle shaft and wheel seal on Cadillac Escalade? Posted by Customer
    A:
When servicing or repairing the Axle Shaft and seal always begin by raising the vehicle using safety stands for support. When servicing and repairing the output shaft first remove the differential carrier assembly and the output shaft itself maintaining case integrity. Set up the j23907 puller/slide hammer/clutch pilot bearing remover to attach a slide hammer with an adapter for pulling the Axle Shaft from the case. The j23907 tool set allows technicians to extract deflector pieces and seal units and bearing units from the system. Use the j22761 differential side bearing installer to set the bearing with the square shoulder pointing inward during installation. Use either j36600 seal installer (K2 Models) or j22833 seal installer (K3 Models) to install the new seal followed by the deflector and Axle Shaft (output shaft). Gently use a soft mallet to install the Axle Shaft (output shaft) before you reassemble the differential carrier assembly.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair an 11 Inch Rear Axle Shaft on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To service and repair the rear shaft axle of the 11 inch axle, remove the axle cap bolts and tap the cap loosely using a hammer with a soft face and to loosen the gasket. To start the process, using a locking plier grip the rib on the Axle Shaft and turn it to remove, then pull the Axle Shaft out of the tube. Clean off old rtv or gasket and clean out the hub assembly well. Examine the shaft for any bends and verify the shaft spline for chips, burrs, cracking or excessive wear and replace any damaged components when necessary. If installing, position the Axle Shaft with rtv or the gasket ensuring the shaft splines engage the differential side gear. Mount the axle cap and bolt it securely with a torque of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs).

    Q:
How to Remove and Install an Axle Shaft for a 10.5 Inch Rear Axle on GMC C3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first part of fixing the rear Axle Shaft is to take off all the bolts (6). Rap the Axle Shaft flange gently with a soft-faced hammer to unlock the shaft, then grip the Axle Shaft rib with a locking plier and twist to commence taking the shaft off (5). Get rid of the Axle Shaft (1) through the tube and wash out its flange. Remove both the gasket (4) and the rtv next and wash the outside face of the hub assembly (3) after that. Go over every part and change it if needed. While placing the shaft, put gasket or rtv on the shaft (4) and move the shaft side gear splines correctly so they are in line with the shaft flange and hub (3) holes. Put in each bolt (6) and fasten it to the required torque of 150 nm (110 ft. Lbs.).
