Recovery Tank

To service and repair the coolant reservoir begin with the process of draining the engine coolant partially. Next pull off the coolant recovery reservoir hose clamp and hose at the radiator overflow fitting and next the coolant recovery reservoir retaining bolt. Carefully undo the coolant recovery reservoir from the cowl tabs and pull it away from the vehicle. Wash the reservoir using soap and water, and then wash it again with clean water. To install, attach the coolant recovery reservoir to the cowl tabs, and bolt it in with the retaining bolt, where you tighten it to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.). Reattach the hose clamp and the hose at the radiator overflow fitting and finally retrieve the coolant recovery reservoir with the coolant up to the required level.

To remove the coolant reservoir, first start by draining the engine coolant partially. Then, take off the coolant reservoir hose clamp and the hose at the radiator overflow fitting, as well as the coolant reservoir retaining bolt. Carefully remove the coolant reservoir from the cowl tabs and the vehicle. Hold the injection port assembly and remove the injection port. Clean and replace the tube assembly as you remove the assembly. For installation, put the coolant reservoir onto the cowl tabs and fasten it by using the retaining bolt and tighten to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.). Lastly, refit the coolant reservoir hose clamp and hose on the radiator overflow fitting and top up the reservoir with the proper amount of coolant.

Attach the overflow hose to the top of the surge tank and fill it with coolant to the proper level.
