Remove the Crankshaft Position Sensor from the engine block while discarding its O-ring seals. You should install new O-ring seals on the Crankshaft Position Sensor before applying a light coat of clean engine oil to them. Install the Crankshaft Position Sensor into the engine block before applying sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) to the threads of the CKP sensor bolt according to Fastener Notice from Service Precautions. Secure the CKP sensor bolt at a torque of 10 N.m (89 lb in) after installation. After reattaching the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the CKP sensor , lower the vehicle and execute the crankshaft (CKP) system variation learn procedure.
