    The first step for an engine Coolant Temperature Sensor replacement is to disconnect the negative Battery Cable and lower the level of the coolant below the Thermostat. Subsequently, take off the ect sensor's electrical connector and carefully remove the sensor from the Thermostat housing. Set the ect sensor in the Thermostat housing , and secure the ect sensor electrical connector to it. Once the system is full, attach the negative Battery Cable as your last step.

    The first step for replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor is to drain the cooling system. Start by removing the ECT sensor electrical connector and then take out the ECT sensor . When putting the sensor back in, make sure to torque it to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). When that is done, join the ECT sensor connector and finish adding coolant to the system.
