    Q:
How to replace the exhaust manifold exhaust heat shield on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by disconnecting the air cleaner outlet resonator before you detach the stud nut from the transmission filler tube at the air adapter to slide the filler tube away from the path. The vehicle owner must first uninstall the Oxygen Sensor from the exhaust manifold followed by the oil level indicator tube. Begin by unstarding and removing the 4 heat shield nuts from the manifold before taking out the heat shield itself. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield by fastening its 4 nuts to 10 n.m tightness (89 lb in). Fitting of the new Oxygen Sensor should follow the reinstallation of the oil level indicator. Reinstall the transmission filler tube on its stud by fastening the nut while tightening the transmission filler tube bracket nut to 10 n.m(89 lb in). The last step involves putting back the air cleaner outlet resonator.

    Q:
How to replace the Exhaust Heat Shield on the LLV (2.9L) on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
A replacement of the Exhaust Manifold heat shield on the llv (2.9L) requires removal of the air cleaner outlet duct and air cleaner assembly first. Before installing m30 replace the transmission filler tube bracket nut which was securing the a.i.r. Adapter and place it to the side. First detach the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) from the Exhaust Manifold before removing all three heat shield nuts from the Exhaust Manifold and finally pulling off the heat shield. New heat shield installation begins when you place it properly over the Exhaust Manifold before using gm anti-seize p/n 12371386 (Canadian P/N 993128) on the heat shield nuts. Use anti-seize gm p/n 12371386 on the heat shield nuts before installing them then tightening them to 10 nm (89 lb in). Transfer the ho2s to the Exhaust Manifold and replace the transmission filler tube to the a.i.r. Adapter by securing it with the bracket nut maintained at 12.5 nm (111 lb in). The air cleaner assembly and air cleaner outlet duct need to be put back after completing the installation.

    Q:
How to replace the Exhaust Heat Shield on the LL8 (4.2L) exhaust manifold on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to change the Exhaust Manifold heat shield on the ll8 (4.2L) involves removing the air cleaner outlet resonator. The first step requires you to disconnect the transmission filler tube stud nut attached to the secondary air injection adapter before moving the filler aside. Uninstall the oil level indicator tube from the system. The next step requires removing the Oxygen Sensor that connects to the Exhaust Manifold. Drain the shield by removing its four manifold mounting nuts before extracting the heat shield from the manifold. When installing the heat shield on the Exhaust Manifold secure its four nuts with a torque of 10 nm (89 lb in). Begin by installing the Oxygen Sensor and then proceed with the installation of the oil level indicator. The transmission filler tube stud requires a secure attachment of the tube through its associated nut tight to 10 nm (89 lb in) tension. As the last step install the air cleaner outlet resonator.
