Spark Plug

The replacement process starts with turning off the ignition before removing the Ignition Coil that serves bank 1 (SFI) or bank 2 (SFI). Wear safety glasses during the operation and maintain caution around compressed air sources. Clean the recess area around the Spark Plug to avoid harmful contamination leakage into the Cylinder Head area through which damage to the engine components may occur as you should use a thread chaser to eliminate any noticed contamination from the threads. Delete remaining debris from the Spark Plug hole using compressed air before plug removal because pulling hot plugs may result in thread seizure. Only spark plugs designed for the precise vehicle should be utilized because the wrong kind of temperature can permanently harm the engine. Through the use of a round feeler gauge check each new and reconditioned Spark Plug gap to verify it meets the specifications. The Cylinder Head should accept the Spark Plug thread effortlessly until it reaches complete seating position while a thread chaser serves to prevent cross-threading or thread damage and overheating conditions. Secure the Spark Plug with 20n-m torque and replace the ignitioncoil unit for bank 1 (SFI) or bank 2 (SFI) according to specific requirements.

First, remove the fuel rail covers and ensure the engine is cool to prevent damage to the cylinder head threads.
