How to replace the Rocker Shaft Spring Kit and valve stem oil seal on Buick Rendezvous? Posted by Customer
    A:
To change the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring, first, make sure the Piston inside the working cylinder is at top dead center (TDC) to avoid dropping the valve in the cylinder. First loosen the Spark Plug and clear all dirt from the area surrounding the Spark Plug recess before removing this component. Then, the valve Rocker Arm is to be removed and Spark Plug port adapter (J22794) is to be installed into the Spark Plug port, using compressed air to compress the valves. Next, put on the valve spring compressor (J38606) on the valve spring and compress the valve spring in order to remove the valve locks, then the valve cap and the valve spring. Check and damage any valve spring and remove the Valve Stem Oil Seal. For installation, first install the new Valve Stem Oil Seal, followed by the valve spring and valve cap. Re-compress the valve spring with the valve spring compressor (J38606) and mount the valve locks, if needed, used grease to hold them in position. Take out the valve spring with the valve spring compressor (J38606) , make sure the valve locks are seated properly. Finally, release the air pressure and remove the Spark Plug port adapter (J22794) from the Spark Plug port, and reinstall the valve Rocker Arm and the Spark Plug.
