    Q:
How to replace the starter motor PG260 F2 or PG260 M on this on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Starter motor pg 260 f2 or pg260 m deployed on this vehicle is non-serviceable and has to be changed as a whole unit. Start by removing the battery negative cable, followed by lifting and supporting the vehicle. Bolt off the front lower air deflector panel and the torque converter covers. I disconnected the positive Battery Cable at the Starter motor by removing the battery terminal nut of the Starter solenoid bat then disconnected the Starter solenoid wire by removing the Starter solenoid s terminal nut. Next, take off the Starter bolts (1,2) and the Starter motor and remove any shims. Make sure that it is right Starter motor that you are installing, align the Starter motor to the engine and reinstall any shims that have been removed. Install the Starter bolts (1,2) finger tight until seated and then fully tighten to 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Connect the positive Battery Cable and attach the Starter motor solenoid bat terminal nut finger tight, and then attach the Starter solenoid wire to the Starter solenoid s terminal nut finger tight. Screw the terminal nut of the solenoid bat / to /9.5 n.m / 84 lb in/ and the terminal nut of the Starter solenoid s/ to / 2.3 n.m / 20.4 lb in ./ finally, reinstall the torque converter covers, front lower air deflector panel and lower the vehicle and reconnect the battery negative cable.
