    Q:
How to remove and install the Body Control Module (BCM) on Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
You should disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable first to remove the Body Control Module. You must reset the BCM system when installing a new unit. Take out the left panel insulator before disconnecting BCM electrical wiring. Pull the BCM body upward and move its bottom section away from the mounting bracket slot to take it out. Place the top end of the BCM into the holding plate and push the bottom end into the slot while supporting it from above. Reattach the BCM electrical connections after you install the left instrument panel insulator and complete the procedure by connecting the negative battery cable.

    Q:
How to remove and install the Body Control Module (BCM) on Buick Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the battery negative terminal before taking out the left instrument panel insulator. Pull out all bcm electrical connectors before pushing the unit upward to release it from the slot and remove it. Choose bcm type 2 for retained accessory power (RAP) with audible warnings and interior lighting plus automatic power door locks, type 3 for keyless entry and type 4 for content theft deterrent ctd plus keyless entry features. Put the top section of the bcm into the mounting bracket slot and push the bottom part into the location as you hold the setup vertically. First connect the bcm electrical wires then replace the left instrument panel pad and lastly reconnect the battery negative terminals.

    Q:
How to remove and replace the Body Control Module (BCM) while ensuring proper connection and programming on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Always start with the brown bcm connector after turning off the Ignition Switch and work in order to protect against setting dtcs. First take out the inner panel insulators from the left and center positions of the vehicle. Use your fingers to bend and hold the bcm snap retainers down. Pull the unit straight from the bracket at an angle to disconnect it. Place the bcm at an angle under the wide hook retainer with the label side down towards the bracket. Press the left side towards the base of the mounting bracket until it clicks into position and makes a firm connection with both snap retainers. Secure the electrical connections to the bcm while making sure to attach the brown connector last and fit back the instrument panel sound insulators. You need to use the techline terminal and diagnostic tool to program the bcm with its correct settings. After that, complete bcm programming and delete error messages found.

    Q:
How to replace the Body Control Module (BCM) on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting bcm installation maintain the Ignition Switch position in off. The brown bcm connector needs special attention when handling due to setting dtcs even during disconnection. Take out the two sound insulators from the vehicle's instrument panel area starting with the left side and then the center. Push back both snap retainers of the bcm to unlock it. Tilt and pull the module free from its bracket. Place the bcm under the wide hook retainer with its label away from the bracket base. Feeding the left side into position will allow you to snap it firmly into place when it is fully in place and both snap retainers engage. Plug the electrical connectors back into the bcm after putting both instrument panel sound insulators back. Use the techline terminal and scanner to program the bcm with correct settings while performing bcm programming and clearing dtc issues.
