    Q:
How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the turn signal switch involves turning off the Restraints system functionality. Safely detaching each trim cover requires reinstalling both the abrasion sleeve onto the steering column wire harness assembly followed by documentation of connector placement for reassembly. The wire harness assembly needs detachment from the harness strap while disconnecting the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector from the SIR system coil connector. Pull out both connectors from the bulkhead connector of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. The turn signal and multifunction switch assembly requires removal of its two pan head tapping screws and before extraction from the steering column tilt head assembly. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly onto the steering column tilt head assembly by placing it so the electrical contact contacts the turn signal cancel cam assembly. Secure the assembly with the two pan head tapping screws and , tightening the top screw to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) Screw the top pan head tapping screw to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) then secure the side pan head screw to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). Insert both connectors from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly into the bulkhead connector before joining them to the SIR coil connector. Reverse-install the abrasion sleeve onto the steering column wire harness assembly by placing the ignition lock cylinder case wires and connector correctly. Install the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap before reattaching upper and lower trim covers and enabling the Restraints system.
