Lower Weatherstrip, Rear Passenger Side

The first step to replacing the cargo door seal involves opening the door before removing it from the pinch-weld flange of the cargo door opening. Wipe all adhesive residue from the flange by applying GM P/N 8984 adhesive remover or similar chemical. The product comes with mastic sealer glue which replaces the need for weather strip adhesive yet requires weather strip adhesive for reused seals. Begin seal installation by inserting it into the body-hinges opening before positioning the top center of the liftgate area against the pinch-weld flange while moving down towards both side ends. Position the butt joint seam exactly at the center of the bottom pinch-weld flange then use a rubber mallet to seal it properly while making sure it remains unfurled at the four edges of the door openings. To finish the door installation process cut necessary slots around body structure reinforcements before closing the cargo door.

Remove the weatherstrip from the door and take out the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the sliding side door.

Reinstall the hinge pillar upper garnish, hinge pillar lower garnish molding, passenger side front corner garnish molding, passenger side body side trim panel, and the side door stepwell mat.

Install the new side rear door lower weatherstrip onto the door.

Insert the pin located on the pocket into the door sheet metal until fully seated, again checking for gaps.

Install the butt joint seam at the center of the bottom pinch-weld flange and use a rubber mallet to ensure full engagement of the cargo door seal to the pinch-weld flange, ensuring that the seal is not kinked at the corners of the door openings.

Reinstall the front door stepwell mat, the front door lower pillar garnish molding, the front door upper pillar garnish molding, the windshield garnish molding, the hinge pillar trim panel, and finally the front door opening upper frame garnish molding.

Gently pull the door opening weatherstrip from the door opening pinch-weld flange and remove it from the vehicle.

Reinstall the body side window.

Apply weatherstrip adhesive into the channel, using GM P/N 12345097 (Canadian P/N 10953479) or an equivalent.

Install the butt joint seam at the center of the bottom pinch-weld flange.

Gently pull on the weatherstrip to remove it from the door pillar, then take out the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the door pillar.

Place the weatherstrip into the roof rail, then press the retainers into the weatherstrip and into the holes in the roof rail.

Remove the hinge pillar trim panel, the front door upper pillar garnish molding, the front door lower pillar garnish molding, and the front door stepwell mat.

Tilt the top of the sealing strip away from the vehicle in an outboard direction and gently pull it away from the pinch weld flange.

Remove the hinge pillar trim panel, front door upper pillar garnish molding, front door lower pillar garnish molding, and front door stepwell mat.

Align the slot in the rear hood seal with the cowl pinch weld flange and press the rear hood seal into place.

Take out the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the door pillar.

Install the retainers at the ends of the weatherstrip into the holes in the floor panel.

Open the cargo door and pull the seal from the cargo door opening pinch-weld flange.

Use a rubber mallet to ensure full engagement of the seal to the flange, ensuring it is not kinked at the corners of the door openings.

Install the retainer at the top of the weatherstrip to the door.

Install the new weatherstrip onto the sliding side door.

Apply GM P/N 12345097 (Canadian P/N 10953479) or an equivalent into the channel on the new weatherstrip.

First, remove the hinge pillar upper garnish, hinge pillar lower garnish molding, passenger side front corner garnish molding, passenger side body side trim panel, and the side door stepwell mat.

First, remove the weatherstrip from the roof rail and take out the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the roof rail.

Start at the corners to align it with the door opening pinch-weld flange, ensuring it does not pull away at the corners, and then press the weatherstrip onto the flange.

Reattach the side door trim panel to complete the process.

Start at the bottom of the channel and slide it up to the top.

Begin by removing the rear corner garnish molding, the driver side body side rear trim panel, the passenger side rear corner trim panel, the rear floor trim plate, and the rear door opening frame garnish molding.

Take out the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the door pillar.

Apply weatherstrip adhesive into the channel on the new side door opening weatherstrip using GM P/N 12345097 (Canadian P/N 10953479) or an equivalent.

First, remove the retainer at the top of the weatherstrip and detach it from the top of the door using 3M Release Agent or an equivalent.

Press the retainers in the left rear door weatherstrip into the holes in the left rear door.

Use 3M(R) General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner (3M P/N 08987) or an equivalent to remove the existing weatherstrip from the door.

Pull the rear door opening weatherstrip from the door opening pinch-weld flange, using 3M Release Agent or an equivalent if necessary.

Remove the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the door.

Take off the weatherstrip from the upper door and clean the surface with an approved cleaning solvent.

A mastic sealer glue is included, so do not use weatherstrip adhesive; however, if reusing the seal, apply weatherstrip adhesive.

Install the butt joint seam at the center of the bottom pinch-weld flange.

Reinstall the hinged body side window and finally, the sliding side door upper trim panel.

Secure the weatherstrip at the top using GM Weather-strip Adhesive GM P/N 12345097 or Canadian P/N 10953479 if reusing the weatherstrip.

Install the new weatherstrip onto the sliding side door.

Press the retainers into the holes in the door until they are fully seated.

Remove the hinge pillar trim panel.

Position the weatherstrip onto the door and press the retainers in the weatherstrip into the holes in the door.

Align the slot in the rear hood seal with the cowl pinch-weld flange and press the rear hood seal into place.

Remove the hinge pillar trim panel.

Pull the weatherstrip to remove it from the channel on the side of the door, and then take out the weatherstrip and retainers from the bottom of the door, ensuring to clean off all old adhesive.

Remove the front door upper and lower pillar garnish moldings.

First, remove the weatherstrip from the door.

Remove the weatherstrip from the sliding side door and take out the weatherstrip retainers from the holes in the sliding side door.

First, remove the hinge pillar upper garnish, hinge pillar lower garnish molding, side door opening frame garnish molding, passenger side front corner garnish molding, passenger side body side trim panel, and the side door stepwell mat.

Place the new sliding side door window weatherstrip onto the vehicle, ensuring the channel aligns with the pinch-weld flange, and press it into place.
