    Q:
How to replace the Spark Plug Wires on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The beginning of ignition cable harness replacement starts with disconnecting each ignition cable by turning its boot one-half turn before removing while pulling only the boot itself or using the specified tool. First disconnect the Distributor ignition cable by turning each ignition cable boot 1/2 turn before physically removing it or using a specified tool. Begin installation by fixing ignition cables to the Distributor before you connect the cables to each Spark Plug. Check cable installation by applying sideways pressure to each boot to ensure correct seating then reinstall any loose boot. Exact cable routing must be preserved during service and during reinstallation of disconnected cables since improper cable placement can create radio ignition noise, plug crossfiring effects or ground lead shorts. New batches of dielectric grease should be applied to ignition cable boots during every installation of ignition cables or boots.

    Q:
How to replace the Spark Plug Wires on GMC C2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the wire harness replacement process by twisting each Spark Plug 1/2 turn then pulling the boot away from the wire. First disconnect the Spark Plug wires from the Ignition Coil by twisting each Spark Plug boot 1/2 turn and extracting the wires with boot-only contact. The Spark Plug wire length in the melco(R) (square design) measures 145 mm (5.70 in) whereas the delphi(R) (round design) uses a wire that measures 110 mm (4.30 in). There are two different manufacturers for the ignition coils: the ignition system comprises two coil types namely melco(R) (square design) and delphi(R) (round design) which need particular Spark Plug wires in addition to distinct mounting brackets - the melco(R) (square design) coil mounting bracket and the delphi(R) (round design) coil mounting bracket. Begin installation by attaching Spark Plug wires to the Ignition Coil before wiring them to each Spark Plug. Check wire installation through sideward pressure tests on boots to verify proper fitment before reattaching loose boots.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair Spark Plug Wires on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to service and repair the Spark Plug Wires, you will need to remove the engine cover. Open the left side of the engine enclosure and remove the Spark Plug wire from each Spark Plug at the left side of the engine. Twists the boots 1/2 turn before pulling away and pulling only the boot or using the tool specifically designed for the purpose of removing the boot. Follow the same process for the right side engine's Spark Plug Wires. Then, remove the Spark Plug wire from the Distributor, twisting each boot 1/2 turn and tugging on the boot only or using a tool for the purpose. However, look for the Spark Plug Wires on the wire clips and pull them out, using a coil wire to pull the wire out of the Distributor and coil as well. For installation a little bit of dielectric silicone grease (GM P/N 12345579) should be applied on each boot of the Spark Plug Wires. Mount the coil wire onto the coil wire to the Distributor, and the Spark Plug wire onto the Distributor. Connect each of the Spark Plug Wires to each Spark Plug on the right side, each of the Spark Plug Wires to each Spark Plug on the left side than secure the Spark Plug Wires into the clips. Check wiring for proper installation by pushing the side of the boot to check seating, re-looping loose boots, and keeping wire routings to prevent the radio ignition noise, cross firing of the plugs, or shorting leads to ground. Finally, reinstall the engine cover.
