    Q:
How to replace the Spark Plug Wires on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to replace the Spark Plug Wires, you first need to remove the engine cover. Remove the Spark Plug wire from each Spark Plug on the left side of the engine by twisting the boots 1/2 turn before you remove them, and pull only on the boot or use a tool for the job. Do the same for the Spark Plug Wires on the other side of the engine. Then unplug the Spark Plug wire from the Distributor, twisting the each boot 1/2 turn and pulling exclusively on the boot or a tool. Nuts on Spark Plug Wires must be taken off from wire clips, while coil wire must be removed from Distributor & coil. For installation, use a small amount of the dielectric silicone grease (GM P/N 12345579) at both boots of the Spark Plug Wires. Connect the coil wire to the coil and the Distributor and put in the Spark Plug Wires at the Distributor. Continue the action to attach the Spark Plug Wires to each of the spark plugs on the right (left), right side (left side), then hold the wires firmly in the clips. Elevate the wires by pulling on each boot to verify seating, replacing any loose boots and make sure wire routings are continued to avoid radio ignition noise, cross-firing plug or shorting the leads to ground. Finally, reinstall the engine cover.

    Q:
How to Replace Spark Plug Wires on GMC Savana 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, remove each Spark Plug wire at each Spark Plug by twisting the boots 1/2 turn before you pull off the wire, only pull on the boot or use a tool made for this. Next, remove the Spark Plug wire from the Distributor and in the same exact 1/2 turn twist on the boot and pull only on the boot or use a tool only on the boot. When installing, it is necessary to ensure that the boots settle correctly by pushing in on the boots because improper seating may bring about a condition of wire core erosion, or one that causes the engine to misfire or one that causes damage from inside. Install the Spark Plug Wires on the Distributor, then to the respective spark plugs. Check the integrity of installation of the wires by applying a sideward apressure to each boot to see seating, reseating any boot which is loose and ensure that wire routings are done to avoid the radio ignition noise, cross-firing and or shorting. Lastly, regular and apply new dielectric grease when Spark Plug Wires or boot are attached on spark plugs.

    Q:
How to replace the Spark Plug Wires on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step is to take off the engine cover in order to replace the Spark Plug wires. Tweak each Spark Plug wire boot on the left engine side for half a turn before taking the wires off yet maintain boot pull from just the boot area while using tools built for this task. Move on to replace the Spark Plug wires on the right section of the engine. When you disconnect the Spark Plug wire from the Distributor twist each boot 1/2 turn before pulling just the boot or choosing a purpose-built tool to proceed. The wire clips should be removed first and then both the coil wire and Distributor wire need to be separated. Before putting the Spark Plug wires back into place empty both boots with a small dab of dielectric silicone grease (GM P/N 12345579). Start by attaching coil wire connections to coil and Distributor and then do the Spark Plug wire connections to Distributor. Secure the wires in their respective clips starting with the right engine side and then the left engine side. Place each Spark Plug wire to its corresponding plug. Check the wires' correct installation by pushing on each boot sideways so they fit properly then reposition any displaced boots. Service procedure requires keeping all wires in their original positions to avoid radio ignition noise and cross-plug fires and lead-ground shorts. Finally, reinstall the engine cover.
