2000 Buick LeSabre Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the vacuum brake booster on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: Start vacuum Brake Booster maintenance by taking off the fuel injector sight shield and the air cleaner and air inlet hose. Move the accelerator control cables aside by removing the bracket and position them out of the work space before disconnecting the engine harness clip that secures to the egr heat shield. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the cruise module part and the brake fluid level sensor electrical connection. Securely place the master cylinder to one side after taking off the booster's attaching nuts. Disconnect the vacuum hose at the vacuum check valve before extracting both Steering Column and booster pushrod parts from their Brake Pedal positions. Pop off the Brake Pedal nuts to take the booster out of the vehicle then separate the gasket. You should put the gasket onto the booster before reinstalling it to its original vehicle position. Push the booster rod through the Brake Pedal attachment and install the spacer and clip before fastening the booster stud nuts to 23 nm torque. Put master cylinder on top of booster then attach nut bolts to the specific torque of 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). Secure the booster vacuum hose back to its proper connections on the vacuum valve, brake level sensor wire, and cruise control cable. Complete the process by putting back the accelerator control cable bracket followed by fastening the engine harness connections at the accelerator control bracket and egr shield. Install the air cleaner assembly and fuel injector sight shield afterward.
