  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: Front and rear, firstly, support the car; secondly, remove the tire and the wheel assembly. Clean off dirt and foreign matter from the brake hose and the brake pipe fittings and fit a rubber cap or plug at the open end of the brake pipe fitting to avoid the loss of brake fluids and contamination. Next, pull off the brake pipe fitting from the brake hose disconnect the brake hose retainer with the help of a flat-bladed tool, then remove the brake hose from the bracket and the brake caliper ensuring you throw away the two copper brake hose gaskets that may be embedded inside them. Mount a rubber plug to the hole of the brake hose bolt on the brake caliper to not cause any loss of fluid. For installation, pop off the rubber plug making sure to use new copper brake hose gaskets and bolt up brake hose bolt with gaskets attached. Mount brake hose bolt to the brake caliper and tighten within 45 nm (33ft. Lbs) while making sure the hose is not twisted or kinked. Mount the brake hose to the bracket, tighten the brake hose retainer, and take off the rubber cap or plug at the end of the brake pipe fitting before mounting the brake pipe fitting and making it dependence of 15 nm (11 ft.lbs.). Do not shift the vehicle until a solid brake from the brake pedal is attained, this is because air into the brake system may result in the failure of brakes and possible injuries. Lastly, bleed the brake caliper at the bleeder screw and reinstall the tire and wheel assembly; return the vehicle to the ground.
