In order to fit-in the rear disc brake backing plate, loosen the parking brake and lift the car. Disassemble the tire, caliper and mounting bracket. Unscrew the parking brake cables and then take the rotor and hub bearing assembly and backing plate out. Install the new supporting plate, rejuvenate parts and lower the car.
