  A: To service and repair vacuum Brake Booster, start by placing the vehicle on the flat surface and taking away the air cleaner assembly. Then, take out the master cylinder and vacuum hose from the vacuum booster. Set the parking brake and block the wheels to inhibit movement, and then shift the gear lever to the lowest gear for easy access. Remove the retaining nut from the coolant tube and place the coolant tube aside. Disconnect the booster attaching nuts (1,2,3) from the Brake Pedal assembly and remove the retaining clip from the booster pushrod tilting the booster enough to push the pushrod out of the clevis pin without applying undue side pressure. After removing the booster take off the gasket. To install, first place gasket onto the booster, then install the booster back into the vehicle. Mount the booster pushrod to the Brake Pedal, once more sloping the booster minimally to prevent side pressure. Hold the booster with the attaching nuts (1,2,3) and tight it to 32 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Now place the coolant tube over the retaining stud and slip the retaining nut onto the stud and tighten it to 6 nm (53 inch lbs). Put the gear lever in park, and fit the booster vacuum hose onto the vacuum booster. Reinstall the master cylinder and the air cleaner assembly. Lastly, unblock the wheels and disengage the parking brake.
