• Q: How to replace the hydraulic brake booster on 2001 Cadillac DeVille?

  A: Start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable when replacing the hydraulic Brake Booster. The vehicle needs to position on a flat terrain having blocked front wheels and engaged parking brake. Perform hose separations of power steering inlet, power steering pressure, and power steering gear to booster. You should separate the booster assembly by removing its master cylinder along with wiring harness bracket and spacer. The installer should remove the left closeout insulator panel along with the left knee bolster and left knee bolster bracket. The vacuum Brake Booster retainer clip and foam spacer must be taken off from the Brake Pedal clevis pin until the vacuum Brake Booster push rod can be removed from the clevis pin. The installation requires removal of both vacuum Brake Booster mounting nuts and vacuum Brake Booster assembly as well as the replacement gasket if the booster needs replacement.
