How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2001 Cadillac DeVille?

Start Brake Master Cylinder replacement by unplugging the brake level sensor electrical connector and separating brake pipes from their ports on the master cylinder. Seal the open pipe ends with rubber caps to avoid fluid loss. Thread the brake pipe fitting ends before unscrewing the 2 master cylinder nuts to take out the master cylinder. After use take off the reservoir from its connection to the master cylinder if you plan to reutilize it. Reconnect the Brake Master Cylinder reservoir when reinstalling the part and perform master cylinder bleed action onto the workbench. Attach the Brake Booster vacuum connection to the sealed master cylinder and fasten it by tightening the mounting nuts to 30nm (22ft lbs) force according to the specific service points. Attach the brake pipes onto the master cylinder and tighten their fittings to 32 nm (24 ft. Lbs.). Put the electrical connector back onto the Brake Fluid Level Sensor then perform hydraulic brake service.
