Lubricate all components with delco supreme 11 brake fluid gm p/n 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667) or an equivalent dot-3 brake fluid which comes from a clean container with sealed packaging. Install the lubricated new primary seal and retainer together with the new secondary seal onto the secondary Piston followed by installation of the lubricated return spring and secondary Piston assembly into the cylinder bore then complete the procedure with the installation of the lubricated new primary Piston assembly. A round-ended tool should depress the primary Piston while you install the new Piston retainer. Reinstall the master cylinder reservoir followed by its cap and diaphragm before installing the master cylinder back into the vehicle.

Before handling the master cylinder you must disconnect the electrical connector from the brake fluid sensor and brake pipes and install rubber caps to seal the exposed ends.
