Gently remove the emblem from the body panel using a flat plastic tool then take off all remaining adhesive from both surfaces with 3M(R) product number 07501 or similar product. Wash the harmed panel with soap and water while wiping it dry with a cloth. Apply 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner p/n 08984 or a suitable substitute to remove any leftover adhesive from the namesplate and body panel. Wipe the surface clean with a lint-free cloth and an equal mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. Apply nameplate only after you have locked your rear compartment in its proper position. Place the emblem/nameplate at 46.5 mm (plus/minus 2 mm) from the left side of edge A and 24.5 mm (plus/minus 2 mm) from edge B using masking tape or magnetic strips for precise placement. When the body reaches less than 21°C (70°F) use j 25070 heat gun (J 25070) to warm the panel before work starts. Stick your emblem/nameplate to the car using double-coated acrylic foam tape from 3M(R) super automotive attachment tape and choose tape variant support products 06380, 06377 or 06382. Keep your hands off the tape and shield it from dirt when you stick it to your project. Stick the emblem/nameplate against the masking tape or magnetic strip before pressing firmly against the surface for 30 seconds to let the adhesive bond. Then take away the masking tape or magnetic strip.
