How to replace the rear Trunk Lock Cylinder on 2000 Cadillac Eldorado?

Begin the cylinder replacement work by taking off the rear compartment lid trim. Unclip the lock cylinder badge first. Use a long flat-blade and stop with a wooden wedge to remove the retainer plate. Disconnect the lock release cable from the back of the lock cylinder for this task. Unplug the wire and take out the lid cylinder unit from the rear compartment. Put the gasket onto the lock cylinder before putting the cylinder into the rear compartment lid. Fit the retain clip and link the electric wires before you hook the lock release cable onto the cylinder base. Restore both the rear compartment lid trim and its emblem before closing.
