Service procedures for bank 2 sensor 1 Oxygen Sensor begin once the engine temperature reaches 48°c (120°F) since cold temperatures increase the resistance of extraction. Excessive heat resistant anti-seize compound should be applied to the Oxygen Sensor threads. Transmission-component installations require anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 or equivalent for reused sensor threads while new sensors arrive with built-in anti-seize coating. Start with vehicle lifting and support followed by the front splash shield's removal. First disconnect the electric connector of the front Oxygen Sensor before removing this sensor from the front Exhaust Manifold. The front Oxygen Sensor must be inserted into the front Exhaust Manifold followed by a 41 n.m (30 lb ft) torque application. After reattaching the connector and replacing the splash shield the vehicle can be lowered.
