How to replace the rear side door window regulator on 2000 Chevrolet Impala?

The first step for Impala rear side door window regulator replacement requires front door window positioning with a 6.3 mm (1/4 in) space at the top followed by window taping to the window frame. The first task requires removal of both the rear door trim panel and the rear door water deflector. You should disconnect both the rear window from the rear window regulator carrier plate and its electrical connector from the rear window regulator motor. First loosen the bolts connecting the rear window regulator motor to the rail then lift the regulator upward through the rear access opening of the inner rear door panel and the key slots. To install the rear window regulator begin by inserting the bolts from the rear window regulator motor and rail half-way into their places and guide the rear window regulator rail and motor through the rear access hole until you can install it into the key slots. Secure the rear window regulator motor and rail bolts at a torque setting of 10 Nm while using 89 lb in measurement. First disconnect the electrical connector from the rear window regulator motor before attaching the tape to the carrier plate and putting the electrical connector back into the motor. The last task includes reinstalling both the rear door water deflector and rear door trim panel.
