2000 GMC Jimmy Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a system on 2000 GMC Jimmy?
A: To replace you have to pull out the refrigerant from the system. Subsequently, pull out the a/c pressure switch (4.3L only) and disconnect the evacuated tube from the accumulator. Next, disconnect the compressor hose assembly from the accumulator, discard o-rings seals, and remove the accumulator clamp bolt and then remove the accumulator itself. For installation, install the accumulator into the accumulator clamp and install the accumulator clamp bolt to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Then implement the pressure cycling switch, after that, install new o-ring seals, connect the evaporator tube to the accumulator, and connect the electrical connector direct to the a/c pressure switch (4.3L only). Finally, evacuate and charge the a/c system.
