    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the accumulator, you should recover the refrigerant first. You need to remove the evaporator tube nut and the steam evaporators. Then remove the nut from the evaporator tube and disconnect the electrical connector from the a/c low pressure switch. Unscrew the compressor hose nut off the accumulator and then compressor hose. Then remove the nut (from the evaporator fitting) and the accumulative bracket nut (from retaining stud) before getting rid of the accumulator. Remove o-ring seals, bolt and retaining bracket from the accumulator. For the installation, you should install new o-ring seals, and if you replace the accumulator, add refrigerant oil to the condenser. Mount the retaining bracket onto the accumulator, fasten it with the retaining bracket bolt and tighten it with the torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Wrench the accumulator and accelerator bracket nut with a torque of 9 n.m (80 lb in). Next, install the nut to the evaporator fitting, tighten it 16 nm (12 lb ft), the compressor hose to the accumulator and again the compressor hose nut, tighten that to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Reconnect the electric connector to the a/c low pressure switch and fasten the nut of the evaporator tube to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Lastly, install the evaporator tube to the evaporator and the evaporator tube nut and tighten to 16n.m (12 lb ft). Evacuate and recharge the system, and conduct a leak test on the fittings with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).

    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
The A/C Accumulator requires replacement by first draining refrigerant from the system. You should first detach the pcm and engine Coolant Reservoir while making sure that the evaporator tube keeps its nuts and ferrules. Next you must take out the A/C Accumulator from the evaporator tube by removing its nuts first. You should apply 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new o-rings before placing them on the evaporator tube. The technicians install the A/C Accumulator on the evaporator tube with its flow arrow facing the evaporator before installing its nuts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Last steps include system evacuation and charging followed by using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) for fitting leak tests. The final procedure entails returning the pcm and engine Coolant Reservoir back into their original positions.

    Q:
How to install the A/C Accumulator to the A/C evaporator tube on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to install the A/C Accumulator (ACDelco P/N 15-1697) at the a/c Evaporator tube near the condenser and Evaporator involves removing both the pcm and engine Coolant Reservoir. First loosen the Evaporator accumulator nut while moving the accumulator for better access to the tube leading to the Evaporator. Measure 100 mm (4 in) from the bend after the high side access port and place a mark before moving the measurement probe 50.8 mm (2 in) to tag another point on the Evaporator tube. You need to slice the marked section of the Evaporator tube with a tubing cutter before removing the burrs. The A/C Accumulator requires nut and ferrule removal along with o-ring removal but o-rings will not be installed yet. The A/C Accumulator should be installed with its flow arrow aimed at the Evaporator after mounting the nuts and ferrules over the Evaporator tube halves followed by ferrule installation with small ends facing toward the nuts. Secure A/C Accumulator nuts to 15 n.m (11 lb ft), afterward remove nuts to prepare o-ring seals with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil prior to installing o-rings on Evaporator tube. The A/C Accumulator nuts require tightening to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). The installation process for the accumulator includes mounting it to the Evaporator while tightening its Evaporator nut to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Install the accumulator bracket to the high side access port position. After evacuation and recharge of the a/c system you must perform a leak test using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). Close the procedure by reinstalling the engine Coolant Reservoir along with the pcm.

    Q:
How to replace the A/C Accumulator on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
First obtain all refrigerant from the system before you can replace the A/C Accumulator. The pcm along with the engine Coolant Reservoir must be removed from the vehicle. The nuts together with ferrules will stay on the evaporator tube and you should leave them there. The A/C Accumulator must be taken out by removing the nuts from the evaporator tube. Apply 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new o-rings before putting them on the evaporator tube. Place the A/C Accumulator onto the evaporator tube by directing its flow arrow towards the evaporator. Secure the A/C Accumulator nuts by tightening them to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Evacuation and recharging of the a/c system must happen after which engineers must carry out leak detection on fittings by using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). The completion of the process requires reinstalling the pcm along with the engine Coolant Reservoir.
