2001 Buick LeSabre Throttle Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the throttle cable on 2001 Buick LeSabre?
A: The left ip accessory trim plate requires removal to begin Throttle Cable replacement. First disconnect the Throttle Cable from the accelerator pedal lever. Afterward push the Throttle Cable through the bulkhead by squeezing the Throttle Cable cover tangs. First disconnect the Throttle Cable through its retaining clip to unattach it from the Throttle Body lever and Throttle Cable bracket. Secure fasteners should be used to prevent interference when routing flexible components that are closer than 50 mm (2 in) to moving pans. Drive the Throttle Cable through the bulkhead before attaching it with the snap retainer. Slide the Throttle Cable through the slot on the accelerator pedal lever to enable both cable end fitting snaps to interact properly with the lever. Position the dash panel insulator retainer so it maintains appropriate contact with the Throttle Cable and dash mat. Through the passenger compartment push the retainer until it situates on the cable dash fitting flange and snaps the lever end fitting while ensuring the throttle moves with full freedom between closed and wide open positions. Complete throttle range availability should be checked through accelerator pedal movements while examining the cable's position within the Throttle Body lever hook. Position the Throttle Cable onto the Throttle Body lever and connect it to the Throttle Cable bracket before stabilizing the Throttle Cable through the retaining clip followed by reinstalling the left ip accessory trim plate.
