How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2001 Cadillac Eldorado?

To replace the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor, perform the following: first, raising and supporting the vehicle. Subsequently, detach the air deflector, the crankshaft sensor electrical connector and bolting. Take out the crankshaft sensor. In case you find an O-ring for the crankshaft sensor worn or damaged before installation, make sure to replace it. Apply engine oil to the O-ring. Mount the crankshaft sensor with the retaining bolt while tightening it to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the crankshaft sensor electrical connector and fitting the original air deflector back in place. Lower the vehicle and turn on the ignition to check for oil leakage on and around the crankshaft sensor. Last but not least, execute the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure.
