2001 Chevrolet Corvette Secondary Air Injection Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace the Secondary Air Injection Pump on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The replacement process for the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump begins with vehicle lift and removal of the left hand side lower close-out panel. Detach the hoses from the AIR pump after disconnecting its electrical connector. You should disconnect the bolts which secure the AIR pump to its bracket (Wrench) before pulling out the pump. Secondly set the new AIR pump into position before installing all mounting bolts until they achieve torque at 9 N.m (80 lb in). The electrical connector should be connected to the AIR pump followed by connecting the hoses. The last procedure requires reinstalling the left hand side lower close-out panel followed by vehicle lowering to check if the AIR system functions properly.
