How to Replace an A/C Hose in the Evaporator Tube on 2001 Chevrolet Impala?

The procedure to replace the Evaporator tube requires the recovery of all refrigerant first. Start by removing the left front fender upper diagonal brace then follow with air cleaner assembly removal before taking off the vacuum Brake Booster. Start by detaching the bracket holding the Evaporator tube/suction hose and breaking loose the Evaporator inlet tube nut connected to the condenser tube. Finally, remove the Evaporator inlet tube from the condenser tube. Disconnect the Evaporator outlet tube to Evaporator block fitting bolt while being cautious about the Evaporator tube. You must disconnect the Evaporator inlet tube from its position on the Evaporator before disposing of the original o-ring. To install the new o-ring require lubricating it with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil before positioning it onto the Evaporator tube. Secure the connecting points between the Evaporator inlet tube and condenser tube and between the Evaporator inlet tube and Evaporator by tightening the Evaporator outlet tube to Evaporator block fitting bolt to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) and the Evaporator inlet tube nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). The installation process includes reattaching the Evaporator tube/suction hose bracket together with vacuum Brake Booster and air cleaner assembly and left front fender upper diagonal brace. The a/c system requires evacuation and recharge while the technicians conduct leak tests on fittings through use of the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
