A suitable tool is needed to safely remove the crankshaft rear oil seal. The installation process requires engine oil application to both surfaces of the crankshaft rear oil seal before installation. Push the j34686 rear main seal installer's j34686 seal down onto its mandrel until it stops against the tool's rear main collar. Position the dowel pin on j34686 to match the crankshaft pin and attach the j34686 manually or tighten screws to 5 nm torques (45 inch lbs.). The t-handle of j34686 provides enough force to activate the collar mechanism which drives the seal into the bore until it properly seats itself. After achieving secure collar position against the case remove the t-handle torsion as it reaches its stop point and uninstall the attaching screws. The final steps involve reinstalling both the engine Flywheel followed by the transaxle.
