2002 Chevrolet Corvette Antenna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace a bent or broken power antenna mast on 2002 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The socket from the antenna (mast) service kit lets technicians remove the antenna mast nut to perform replacements for bent or broken power antenna masts. Switch ignition to ACC or ON mode while turning your radio on to activate power antenna function. Before disassembly note the serrated orientation of the antenna mast plastic cable since it tends to coil upon extraction so handle it carefully to prevent motor grease contact. Take out the antenna mast with its contact spring and gently raise the mast if necessary. To begin installing the system turn OFF both radio and ignition then switch ignition to the ACC or ON position and activate the radio. Place the replacement antenna (mast) plastic cable into the power antenna housing so its serrated side faces forward toward the right-hand side of the vehicle while gently pushing until the tip enters the motor component. Follow identification of the correct housing position with an assistant turning off the radio while you guide the plastic cable toward the antenna mast insertion. Insert the antenna mast through the housing to its correct position while pushing the contact spring upward until it rests inside the housing. Adjust the antenna mast nut with a socket and tighten it securely. Allow the antenna to extend and retract automatically while you manually turn the radio's power ON then OFF. Complete the antenna cycle by allowing one to two antenna movements. Finally, turn the ignition OFF.
