This is the part where you connect the antenna coax cable to the VCIM jumper harness, lock the I/P compartment door, install 3 coax cable retainers to the windshield pillar, fasten the retainers of the coax cable to the header panel, connect the coax cable connectors and finally to install the headliner.

Regular antenna maintenance requires following this procedure: start with the ignition switch at ON, RUN, ACC, or ACCESSORY followed by turning on the radio to reach full antenna mast extension. Wet a soft cloth with a grease cleaning solvent of mineral spirits together with rubbing alcohol or tar remover to clean each section of the mast while paying special attention to the joint areas. Once you turn the radio power OFF you should turn it back ON to make the antenna extend and retract before repeating this cleaning routine twice more.

Wipe the cloth up and down over the antenna sections.

Use an upward motion to remove the antenna assembly from the roof.

Wipe it up and down over the antenna sections to remove any dirt, paying particular attention to the antenna section joints.

Turn the ignition back to the ACC or ON position and the radio ON again.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the antenna assembly and loosen the retaining nut until the assembly can be removed from the roof panel.
