Remove the back up lamp switch from the manual transmission upper case by disconnecting its electrical connector. Check the O-ring of the back up lamp switch for damage or fragmentation then change it if needed. Follow installation steps by connecting the back up lamp switch to the manual transmission upper case and torque it to 20 N.m (14 lb ft). After supporting the vehicle you should connect the electrical connector to the back up lamp switch before lowering the vehicle.
