2003 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Hose for the condenser on 2003 Buick Century?
A: A proper tube replacement begins with collecting the refrigerant and then removing the air cleaner assembly together with the vacuum Brake Booster and lower radiator air baffle. Disconnect the condenser tube by unscrewing its nut located on the condenser. Start by lowering the vehicle while disconnecting power to the a/c pressure sensor electrical connector and then take off the condenser tube from its support mount. The sequence requires disconnecting the evaporator tube from the condenser tube after loosening its nut at the condenser tube. The procedure ends with complete condenser tube removal. Remove the o-ring before taking away the a/c pressure sensor from the condenser tube. To attach the a/c pressure sensor you must first combine it with the new condenser tube while also installing a fresh o-ring. Install the condenser tube on the support clip followed by attaching the evaporator tube before tightening the evaporator tube nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Refit the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector while lifting the vehicle and connect the condenser tube with the condenser through a 27 n.m (20 lb ft) torque setting. End your procedure by installing the lower radiator air baffle as well as vacuum Brake Booster and air cleaner assembly before evacuating and recharging the a/c system. Use the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to perform a leak test on the fittings.
