Apply the Heat Gun (J 25070) at a 152 mm (6.0 in) distance to follow a circular path on the emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds. Begin with a modified plastic flat-blade tool to remove the emblem/nameplate while using the 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) to remove all adhesive residue from both surfaces. Wash the door surface using varnish makers and painters (VMP) naptha. Apply tape first to mark the emblem/nameplate area then measure the distance at 41 mm (1.625 in) from the rear door edge and 146 mm (5.750 in) from the feature line to the bottom of the emblem/nameplate. Apply the Heat Gun (J 25070) to warm the door surface until it reaches 21°C (70°F) before pressing the emblem/nameplate to avoid adhering the adhesive backing. Smoothly position the emblem/nameplate onto the door panel by removing its back while continuing to remove the backing and creating hand-folded shape for proper adhesion. Finish by examining that the emblem/nameplate has proper bond followed by removing the tape from the door emblem's surrounding area.
