How to replace the right camshaft on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

Start by taking off the right Camshaft cover together with the right Camshaft drive sprockets. Use the specified sequence to alternately loosen Camshaft bearing cap bolts by small turns at a time before removing all bolts and caps and recording the code marks (L1, L2, L3, etc.) on each cap. You should extract camshafts from the cylinder head and eliminate the Camshaft seals before washing all bearing and sealing surfaces and performing a Camshaft inspection. Install the proper Camshaft with stamp markings that identify the intake and exhaust cams. Use gm p/n 1052367 (Canadian P/N 992869) equivalent lubrication to coat the Camshaft bearing surfaces and lobes. To reduce bearing cap installation strain position the exhaust Camshaft pin at 11 o'clock and the intake Camshaft pin at 12 o'clock marks. Install the cylinder head camshafts after applying gm p/n 1052942 (Canadian P/N 10953466) or equivalent to the forward edge of front bearing caps for proper sealing. Install the bearing caps by following their identification marks and use hand torque till full contact before tightening bolts to 8 nm (71 inch lbs.). Place clean engine oil on the Camshaft Seal lip before using the Camshaft/front main seal installer (J35268-A) to drive the seal smoothly until it achieves complete and uniform seating. Reinstallation requires right Camshaft drive sprockets combined with the right Camshaft cover.
