How to replace the inner tie rod on 2004 Cadillac CTS?

Begin the inner Tie Rod replacement by raising and supporting the vehicle and removing the front tire together with the wheel. The process starts by removing both outer tie rods with their associated Rack and Pinion Boot. Use a pipe wrench on the rack adjacent to the inner Tie Rod housing before using a wrench on its flats to rotate the housing counterclockwise until the rack and inner Tie Rod separate. During reassembly the inner Tie Rod should be connected to the rack before installing a pipe wrench on the rack beside the inner Tie Rod housing. A torque wrench and j 34028 tool should be used to tighten the inner Tie Rod to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) while working on the flats of the inner Tie Rod housing. The final installation requires the Rack and Pinion Boot and outer tie rods as well as front wheels and tires and the completion of vehicle lower procedures.
