To begin the process remove retaining screws and extract the air temperature actuator assembly. Installation preparation requires fitting the passenger air temperature actuator to temperature door shafts to check alignment before actual installation. Use mild damage-free rotation to properly align the shafts before performing a second test fit starting with the inner shaft alignment. Note that adjusting the actuator will cause an out-of-range trouble code to be set up but this code must be deleted after the repair is complete. Automatic re-calibration mode becomes active by connecting the electrical connector to the actuator then holding it away from the shafts then turning the ignition key to on. Find the positions where the temperature door shafts align with the cams during the automatic re-calibration mode then shut off the ignition before testing fit the actuator again. Perform additional cam alignment if needed. Secure the air temperature actuator assembly to the hvac module by following the fastener notice in service precautions. Tighten the retaining screws to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). After reconnecting the electrical connector to the air temperature actuator assembly and placing the instrument panel storage compartment back in position the system requires an actuator calibration step.
