The next step requires removal of the retaining screws before taking out the air temperature actuator assembly from its position. Put the replacement air temperature actuator's cams in correct position with the temperature door shafts before installation. adjust the shafts if necessary. Without force attempt to shift the shafts faintly backward before testing that the temperature actuator aligns its inner shaft first. Plug in the electrical connector to the actuator while keeping it separate from the shafts then turn the ignition to ON to initiate automatic re-calibration. Watch the cams while turning off the ignition when they reach the temperature door shafts position. After testing the temperature actuator position return to the cam adjustment procedure if necessary. Secure the air temperature actuator assembly to the HVAC module by using retaining screws and tightening these screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in). Reconnect the electrical connector to the air temperature actuator assembly then install the instrument panel storage compartment and recalibrate the actuators. The repair process might trigger an out-of-range trouble code for the actuator although this code can be removed when the repair finishes.
