  A: A refrigerant recovery process must begin before changing the Evaporator hose assembly. First dismantle the snap clamp which fastens the Evaporator hose to the accumulator cover. Then free the Evaporator hose from the frame rail hold down point. Begin replacement of the Evaporator hose assembly by disconnecting the electrical connector from the a/c low temperature sensor while also removing the Evaporator hose nut from the Evaporator and the Evaporator hose from the Evaporator. Start by taking off the upper filler panel before you extract the Evaporator hose nut from the accumulator and separate the Evaporator hose from the accumulator. Empty the sealing washers from the Evaporator hose as you remove the Evaporator hose from your vehicle. Start by taking off the Evaporator hose nut from the condenser and the Evaporator hose from the condenser. Finish by extracting the Evaporator hose from your vehicle. First install new sealing washers onto the Evaporator hose before you attach it to the condenser then secure it with the Evaporator hose nut while tightness should be 20 n.m (15 lb ft). The Evaporator hose installation requires you to place it onto the Evaporator before securing it with the Evaporator hose nut tightly up to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Secure the Evaporator hose nut across the accumulator using a torque of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Place the Evaporator hose facing the accumulator cover before installing its snap clamp. Next move the Evaporator hose to the frame rail hold down area while connecting the a/c low temperature sensor's electrical connector. After completing the process recharge the a/c system followed by a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) test then reinstall the upper filler panel.
