The replacement of the A/C orifice tube begins with refrigerant recovery followed by evaporator hose removal from the accumulator cover. First separate the evaporator hose fitting at the A/C orifice tube position by using Dual O-Ring Tube Separator (J 38042). Cut the A/C orifice tube off from the evaporator hose and discard the accompanying O-ring of the evaporator hose. Connect a new O-ring onto the evaporator supply hose before inserting the A/C orifice tubing into the hose once the connection between hose and evaporator is tight at 24 N.m (18 lb ft). Twist and place the evaporator hose to connect with the accumulator cover while applying pressure. The refrigerant system requires final recharging then fits undergo a leak test with Electronic Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400).
