Detach the discharge hose at the evaporator inlet fitting with the J 39500-B then disconnect the fitting to remove the A/C Orifice Tube from the evaporator hose assembly. The O-ring needs refrigerant oil lubrication before installing the A/C Orifice Tube into the evaporator hose assembly. Then attach the discharge hose to the evaporator inlet line fitting. Tighten the discharge hose to the evaporator inlet line fitting until it reaches 24 N.m (18 lb ft) torque and restore the line within its original position secured by the plastic hold-down clamp. The system requires recharging while technicians perform a leak test on the fittings of repaired components through the combination of J 39400 Electronic Halogen Leak Detector and J 38042 Dual 0-Ring Tube Separator.
