How to replace the A/C Orifice Tube on 2004 Cadillac DeVille?

First recover the refrigerant then withdraw the evaporator hose from its placement on the accumulator cover when replacing the A/C orifice tube. The Dual O-Ring Tube Separator (J 38042) separates the evaporator hose fitting after you loosen its connection at the A/C orifice tube location. Cut off the A/C orifice tube from the evaporator hose before disposing of the O-ring from this hose. The installation of a new O-ring on the evaporator hose requires you to insert the new A/C orifice tube into the hose. At 24 N.m (18 lb ft), tighten the evaporator hose nut. Connect the evaporator hose to the accumulator cover and activate it with pressure mating. Refrigerant system recharge must occur after running a leak detection test on fittings through usage of the Electronic Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400).
